NECUSA Announces Open Board Positions for the Upcoming June 2009 ConferenceIn the last clipboard issue I advised you of the open board positions that will be elected at the conference in Mystic this year. I want to bring those up again as a reminder to all. First will be the Vice President position. Neil Mclaughlin has announced his candidacy for that position at the Winter Board meeting in Scranton in March. Neil currently holds the Secretary position. Remember, the Vice President moves into the President position after two years. Secretary is also a board position that is open this year. My position as director at large is open and I have stated that I will not be running again. The other director at large post is the one held by Jim Bonner. At the Winter Board meeting in March, the board had received and accepted the resignation of Bill Trexler as treasurer. Jim was appointed to fill that job and so the director at large position needs to be filled. So for a quick run down these are the openings on the board:
Nominations are open to anyone who has been a member in good standing for two years. If interested, please send me a letter of intent explaining why you want to serve on the board and a letter from your institution recommending you and supporting you for the position. Please send those letters via e-mail, fax or regular mail to: Dan Songer If you want to be nominated from the floor, please bring the letters with you to the business meeting on Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Please consider running for the board. It is a great way to serve NECUSA and the membership. I will be waiting to hear from you. |
