Columbia University Public Safety Department is hosting the new
3-DAY CAMPUS & COMMUNITY CRIME PREVENTION THROUGH ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN (CPTED) course
The new 3-day Campus & Community Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) course was designed for K-12 and higher education Police/Public Safety, local law enforcement, government officials and other business leaders, community volunteers and crime prevention practitioners. It will provide the latest information, tools, and resources in the area of CPTED, including; how to conduct quality security and CPTED surveys, lighting, landscaping/maintenance, target hardening, alarm systems & technology, crime prevention resources, and current best and promising practices. New information on target-hardening for large outdoor venues and vehicle-ramming defense has also been added to the new curriculum.
